Sr. Systems Engineer

The Sr. Systems Engineer responsibilities include generating engineering design documents (design review documents, pre-build/as built documentation, training, operation and maintenance documentation, etc.); calculating link budgets, writing proposals, creating presentations, and generating bill of materials; supporting the Marketing department; supporting system integration and implementation of turnkey systems; and interfacing with the R&D department.

Requirements:

  1. BS in Engineering is required; MS in Engineering is preferred
  2. 10+ years of experience in the satellite communications industry
  3. Experience with link budgets, Frame Relay, IPs, and TDMA
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  5. Experience in generating RFPs and RFIs
  6. Ability to travel

Sales Manager, Asia Pacific

AAE is looking for a Sales Manager to join our team. We are looking for an individual with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in both domestic and international markets. The position is based in-house at our Sunnyvale, California headquarters.

The Sales Manager responsibilities include establishing and managing sales channels; implementing a strategic sales and marketing plan for our systems that offer complete services and solutions; ensuring maximum sales volume of company products; generating proposals, presentations, and marketing material; and attending tradeshows.

Requirements:

  1. BA or BS is required; MBA is preferred
  2. 7+ years of experience in generating sales revenues for corporations in the Asia Pacific market
  3. Proven history of meeting or exceeding sales quotas
  4. Experience in selling high-tech wireless communications technologies (satellite, microwave, etc.)
  5. Knowledge of satellite, TDMA, and Wi-Fi/WiMAX communications technologies is preferred

Sr. Software Engineer

AAE is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to develop real-time application software for an IP satellite modem running on embedded Linux. The ideal candidate is available to start immediately and has experience in developing and releasing complex communications equipment; integrating on custom hardware; working on signal processing software including Linux applications such as SNMP Agent, GPS interface, socket programming, Inter Process Communications (IPC), and PHP-based web interfaces; and implementing technologies such as PIM-SM, OSPF, Voice over IP (VoIP), Quality of Service (QOS), Bandwidth on Demand, and TCP/IP Acceleration on similar platforms.

Requirements:

  1. 10+ years of experience with developing communications equipment is preferred
  2. 10+ years of experience in programming in C with good structure programming methodologies is preferred
  3. 10+ years of experience with real-time embedded Linux is preferred
  4. BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Sr. Program Manager
 
The Sr. Program Manager is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the scheduling and technical performance of company programs.  Further responsibilities include coordinating preparations of proposals, plans, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts; managing on-site and off-site installations; ensuring adherence to master plans and schedules; developing solutions to program problems; directing work of personnel assigned to program from various departments; ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget; and acting as the advisor to the program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
 
Requirements:
  1. BA or BS is required; MS is preferred
  2. 15+ years of experience in managing large scale contracts valued in the millions of dollars
  3. Proactive with a high degree of creativity and latitude
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  5. Experience with International Customs practices and procedures
  6. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals of all levels
  7. Technical background in satellite telecommunications is preferred
  8. Strong PC skills
  9. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Network Engineer

The Network Engineer plans, designs, and develops Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs) across the organization. The Network Engineer also participates with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communications links. This individual also analyzes and resolves network hardware and software problems within the organization.
 
Requirements:
  1. 5+ years of experience with installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting routers and switches
  2. Experience designing and implementing company LANs and WANs
  3. Experience designing and deploying wireless networks and VoIPs 
  4. Ability to maintain and modify a network infrastructure
  5. Ability to monitor and troubleshoot network performance and problems as they arise
  6. Experience conducting research on network products, services, protocols, and standards
  7. Experience monitoring and testing network performance to provide network performance statistics and reports
  8. Ability to oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades
  9. Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices
  10. Ability to diagnose connectivity issues that may relate to LAN and WAN, dial-up, VPN, and Internet connectivity
  11. Understanding of network devices, protocols, and architectures
Field Engineer
 
The Field Engineer is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of turnkey telecommunications systems.  These systems include satellite, microwave, cellular telephony, digital communications, and various forms of wireless communications systems and networks.
 
Requirements:
  1. 5+ years of experience in satellite and wireless systems integration, installation, and field testing
  2. BS or BA is preferred
  3. Experience with SCPC, TDMA, RF, and microwave
  4. Ability to travel for extended periods up to 75% of the time
Systems Engineer

Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing a manufacturing plan for our product line from the ground up.  Further responsibilities include working with the Engineering and R&D departments to develop engineering design concepts and work statements that support production requirements; ensuring compliance with contractual, operational, and regulatory requirements; organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work schedules; preparing and revising manufacturing and tooling plans; sourcing and interfacing with vendors; and planning and leading special projects.
 
Requirements:
  1. BS in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Management
  2. 8+ years of experience with designing and executing manufacturing processes
  3. Experience with developing production methods and good practices

Purchasing Associate
 
The Purchasing Associate interfaces with vendors; negotiates pricing; researches new vendors and pricing; generates, tracks, and monitors purchase orders; supports internal departments to ensure they have equipment and materials needed to successfully execute tasks; and maintains and manages inventory.  The ideal candidate is able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. 
 
Additional responsibilities include supervising vendors for outsourced services; processing and tracking RMAs; shipping and receiving; and driving the company vehicle for dropping off or picking up supplies, materials, and equipment.  We are a small company, so other duties may be assigned to the Purchasing Associate to meet business needs.
 
Requirements:
  1. 5+ years of related work experience, preferably in the high-tech industry
  2. Ability to negotiate effectively
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  4. Detail oriented and highly organized
  5. Proficient with Word, Excel, and other MS applications
  6. Exceptional people skills, flexible, and a "team player"
  7. Ability to multi-task in an organized and efficient manner with limited supervision
  8. Ability to operate a forklift is preferred
  9. Must have a valid CDL with a good driving record
  10. Experience with SAP is preferred
